New Comment System!

Let's welcome the new DotA-Blog comment system! We realize that the previous comment system is lack of feature and quite hard to interact between comments. Hence, we decide to install a new comment system /interface in the DotA-Blog and hopefully it will provide you with a better comment experience.

Some features are:
- Login the comment system using Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo and OpenID
- Reply directly to each comment
- Flag a comment so a moderator can either delete or blacklist the user
- Like a comment

And our team also happy with the new comment system because we can:
- Reply directly from the comment control panel
- Blacklist a user which offend the other

Last but not least, we also need your feedback. So please let us know if you like/dislike the new comment system. If you don't like it, please kindly tell us why. And most importantly, if you can't see the comment form like the picture above, please send me an email at alief_5103100006@yahoo.com :)

PS: Anyway, do you have any idea which picture for the comment default image? Currently we are thinking between Phoenix and the old Kunkka. But if you have better image, let us know! :)

DotA-Blog Blast Through 50 Million Page Views

After 4 years, DotA-Blog finally reached 50,000,000 page views. We're really happy with this and wanna share some thanks to certain people:
1. IceFrog, thank you for providing us with a truly awesome custom map named DotA.
2. DotA-Blog contributors. Lots of people give us tips whenever there's something new on DotA scene. I can't named them one by one here, but we wanna let you know that we really appreciate that.
3. DotA-Blog Forums Moderator. They're the one who keep the forums alive :)
4. And most importantly, You! You are the main source of our energy. Seeing people coming in this blog is always raise our spirit..

Thanks guys, we hope that DotA-Blog will always manage to be your main source of DotA news and updates! Cheers!

2010 DotA-Blog Poll of the Year Result!

Finally the DotA-Blog Poll of the Year is finished. Thousand players are giving their vote to their favorite heroes, favorite new heroes, favorite new items and favorite skill remakes. Thanks for all DotA-Blog readers who participated. And now let's check the result!



It seems the Arcane Boots are the most popular new items. Almost half of the players chose it. Meanwhile, Orb of Venom placed on the bottom with only 5% people chose it. Maybe IceFrog will need another tweak to make this item more popular :)

Without a doubt, the Doombringer remake get the first rank. No wonder, the remakes is really awesome. Devour allow you to get Neutral Creeps skill. And not only that, the remade Scorched Earth also allow you to chase will damaging  and healing at the same time.

Well, it seems from the 4 heroes introduced on 2010 (excluding DotA 6.70), they all got lots fans except for Io the Guardian Wisp. No wonder, not many people love being a support hero. At any rate, Shadow Demon get the first rank with 31% votes.

And here are the most interesting polls, the most favorite heroes! The above is the top 10 heroes. Nevermore is sit nicely on the top with 12% votes while Earthshaker following with only 1% difference. We'll see if in 2011 this gonna changes :) The only thing that surprise me is that Jah'rakal also got a place in there ;)

Now, after seeing the top, let's see the bottom list. 12 heroes got their rank in the bottom. Still don't know why the voters did not chosen them, but let's hope they will got their rank up on the 2011. Check out this link for the complete list of the favorite heroes rank.

Actually it's a shame that Phoenix and Tuskarr can't get into the poll because they are introduced when the polls already take place. Don't worry though, we will set another polls about DotA 6.70 really soon. Meanwhile, say your thought about this poll. DotA-Blog Reaching More Than 10,000 Subscribers!

WOW! DotA-Blog is actually reaching more than 10,000 subscribers! Guys, that's really something for me.. Back then when i started this blog, i never imagine that the DotA-Blog will be this big. Heck, the blog's name is still using "dota-allstars-blog.blogspot.com". Anyone remember that ^^? And for this achievement, i wanna give my thanks personally to..


1. IceFrog, thanks for developing such amazing map. Without your map, this blog won't even exist.
2. DotA-Blog's Contributors. A lot of names here. Thank you for all of your email and updates. It really help this blog to post the latest updates about DotA.

World Cup 2010!

I'm writing this post at the halftime of Argentina vs Nigeria match. Yes, the World Cup 2010 now is being held on the South Africa! And i'm pretty sure, most of the Dota players who loves football/soccer are watching the same scene as i do. For those who doesn't watch, Argentina is lead the match with Gabriel Heinze goal ^^


Well, i just wanna say happy watching for all the football fans in this blog. Hope the best team win the World Cup! :)

PS: My favorite team is Spain, what about you? Share it in this post ;)
PPS: I wonder if IceFrog also watching the World Cup.. If he does, i hope he watch it while working on the Dota 6.68 ^^ Just kidding Icy, you also deserve your own time ;p

DotA Hack, Map Hack, Garena Hack and My Reason

DotA-Blog fellow readers maybe already know that i never put any DotA hack, map hack or even Garena hack on this blog. In this chance, i would like to explain why i don't put any of those tools on this blog.

Any hack abot DotA is the worst thing that a DotA player could do. It's not only put other player on the disadvantage, but also ruin the fun of the Dota game itself. The player who use the hack will also trapped and will prevent them to improve their skills and map awareness. Therefore, i won't support any of those tools in my blog. I hope you can understand my choice. And let's hope someday there's a way to prevent any hack on the DotA map.

Hello guys! ^^
After several weeks working on it, i'm proudly present the Dota-Blog Forums! A new media that will help this blog grow as a nice place for Dota-Allstars community. I hope this forums can be a friendly and comfortable media to discuss about Dota. As a short introduction, here is some place that you should check :)

1. Tired after having Dota Match? Go to the Dota Lounge to chat and have a relaxing discussion.
2. Discuss your favourite hero with ease. Each hero have their own forums so you can have more focused discussion.
3. You can go to the Underground Bar and discuss "dangerous" things like bugs, exploit and other stuffs. Enter with your own risk! ;)
4. Beginner Help Desk will be a friendly place for those new to Dota and want to learn more. If you feel yourself a Pro and have a spare time, go to this forum and help the newbies growing :)
5. Do you play on Garena? You can discuss more about Garena on Garena Guild.
6. You can find a worthy opponent and arrange a match on the Death Match Rings.

After two years, this blog got many changes here and there. Well, almost everything, except for the address.. ^^ I know some people get annoyed to type "dota-allstars-blog.blogspot.com" just to get into this blog, because i also felt it -_- But that's the past, now you can simply type www.Dota-Blog.com in your browser and you're here ;)

In this chances, let me say thanks to all the people who help to keep this blog alive.. All the people who contributes or just simply support this blog. It's been 2 years already since i start write this blog. And when i made it, i never though it will reach this kind of traffics with 4000+ subscribers. Thanks to you guys..

Hi guys, right know i'm planning to update the Dota Heroes Guide. This blog is somehow lack of heroes guides and i want to filled the blank. My goal is to have all heroes got their own updated guide. It's not an easy task though and maybe i will need your help :)

You can help me by give a link to guides that you feel it's a great one (source will be listed). But if you have a lot of time and has some experience using Blogspot, you can also help me by edit the guides to fit this blog (contact me). I will update and list few new guides every week.
