DotA 2 Announced | Dota 2 Coming in 2011

DotA 2 Announced - Dota 2 Coming in 2011. The vital change in DotA 2 is that it will run on Valve’s Source Engine which will remove all the Warcraft 3 limitations. All the heroes, items, terrain, buildings will be ported same as in current version of DotA. Anyone who plays Warcraft 3 – Dota will instantly recognize DotA 2. However, there are still some things which are new in DotA 2.




Following are some features Valve introduced about incoming DotA 2:

DotA 2 BloodseekerIn-game Voice Chat:
DotA 2 will have integrated voice chat feature which will allow players to communicate during game without using 3rd party software.

Leaver AI replacement:
Disconnected players will be replaced by AI bots which will take control over the hero. It will be available in unranked matches

Heroes Voice:
DotA 2 will feature new voice work. You’ll get amusing lines from heroes as they deny the enemy team last hits on creeps, and champions who have backstory connections will trade quips when nearby.

Coaching & Training System:
Once again, Valve is coming with a great innovation of coaching system which will be used to train a beginner to learn DotA 2 to sustain a respectable position in the community. It will allow veteran players to login as a coach. Coach can see beginner’s screen and can get private voice chat during the game.

It is indeed a revolutionary & surprise step taken by Valve by entering in the world of MMO-RTS games with the help of IceFrog. Finally, DotA Fans had some relief after hearing some of the features of the upcoming DotA 2. The upgraded heroes are still looking remarkable in the images. It’s good that Valve DotA 2 team revealed something but fans will still consider it as a drop in a ocean that IceFrog still refused to disclose his name in the community.

Public Test Realm Patch 4.0.6 Notes - Updated Jan. 28

Public Test Realm Patch 4.0.6 is about The First World of Warcraft: Cataclysm now available patch of the year is in development. This small patch includes some latest updates and recent improvements include fixes several bugs, repair classrooms, fixing some items and many more. If you want to help us test this patch and give feedback, you can start by copying your character into a test area. Heroes

Alchemist
- Unstable Concoction stun duration rescaled from 2.5/3/3.5/4 to 1.75/2.5/3.25/4
- Added an AoE effect indicator for the Alchemist player while he is charging his Unstable Concoction

Axe
- Battle Hunger slow increased to 10%
- Cooldown on Aghanim's Culling Blade reduced from 15 to 10 seconds

Bane Elemental
- Brainsap damage rebalanced from 75/150/225/300 to 90/160/230/300
- Enfeeble damage rebalanced from 30/60/90/120% to 40/60/80/100% (above 100% didn't work properly)
- Added -disablehelp for Nightmare, to stop direct casting on allies (3123839)
- Nightmare fixed so it properly stops enemy potions (3123839)

Batrider
- Fixed a bug with Sticky Napalm overhead text (+1, +2, etc) that was recently added from being visible to the enemy

Beastmaster
- Hawk's HP reduced from 100/200 to 50/100
- Invisibility on Hawk reworked. It now fades out automatically whenever it hasn't moved for 8 seconds.

Bone Fletcher
- Death Pact attack damage rebalanced from 6/7/8% to 4/6/8% of targets HP

Bounty Hunter
- Jinada critical strike increased from 1.4/1.6/1.8/2.0 to 1.5/1.75/2/2.25
- Track cast range increased from 750/950/1150 to 900/1050/1200

Broodmother
- Increased XP given for killing Broodmother's Spiderlings

Clockwerk
- Movement speed increased from 310 to 315

Crystal Maiden
- Crystal Nova slow duration reduced from 5 to 3.5/4/4.5/5 seconds.
- Crystal Nova damage increased from 80/130/180/230 to 100/150/200/250.

Dazzle
- Shallow Grave now has a duration indicator for allies

Dirge
- Fixed over-sized click boundaries for Tombstone

Doom Bringer
- Base armor reduced by 2
- Doom cast range reduced from 650 to 550

Enchantress
- Aghanim's Scepter added to Enchantress (Increases her attack and Impetus range by 150)

- Sprout code improved to reduce the chances of heroes sometimes popping out of it
- Sprout targeting change from 6.67 removed
- Wrath of Nature can now be cast through the minimap and it will select the closest unit as the initial target (275356)

Gyrocopter
- Homing Missile now adds an ally only visual effect on targeted enemies
- Homing Missile cast range increased by 150
- Homing Missile cooldown from 20/18/16/14 to 20/17/14/11
- Rocket Barrage damage improved from 10/12/14/16 to 10/13/16/19

Huskar
- Berserker's Blood attack speed bonus increased from 2/4/6/8 to 3/6/9/12

Invoker
- Invoker now gains attribute points for each orb he levels


Jakiro
- Increased Macropyre (Aghanim's version) travel distance

Juggernaut
- Omnislash no longer wastes a strike by considering banished units in its search

Keeper of the Light
- Recall is now targetable through the minimap

Lone Druid
- Leash range increased to 1100
- True Form movement speed from 270 to 280
- The "-ms" command now shows the movement speed of your Spirit Bear as well (298418)
- Spirit Bear attack point improved
- Fixed common scenarios where Spirit Bear would miss its attack as the target was moving
- Casting Summon Spirit Bear while the bear is still alive will restore that bear's health instead of not allowing you to cast.

Leoric
- Hellfire Blast damage redistributed to some on impact and some dps (312517)
- Scoreboard now displays Skeleton King's ultimate cooldown time
- Skeleton King will be automatically selected for you after he reincarnates

Leshrac
- Pulse Nova AoE increased from 300/350/400 to a constant 400

Lina Inverse
- Laguna Blade (Aghanim's version) damage increased from 600/875/1150 to 600/925/1250

Luna
- Eclipse (Aghanim's version) target limit increased from 5 to 6

- Base Strength increased from 17 to 20

- Strength growth reduced from 2.0 to 1.7

Pit Lord
- Dark Rift AoE increased from 375 to 450

Priestess of the Moon
- Leap cooldown improved from 40/35/30/20 to 30/26/22/18

- Sonic Wave (Agahnim's version) cooldown improved from 120/100/80 to 100/70/40

Razor
- Static Link drains damage over 8 seconds instead of 10.
- Static Link damage per second rescaled from 5/10/15/20 to 7/14/21/28

Sand King
- Epicenter (Aghanim's version) now gives one more pulse
- Fixed some lag with Epicenter
- Fixed a bug with Sand Storm if you recast it very quickly while still invisible

Shadow Fiend
- Added a new command (-souls) to see the number of souls you have collected

Slark
- Decreased base Agility from 21 to 15 and increased starting damage by the same amount
- Pounce damage rescaled from 50/75/100/125 to 40/80/120/160
- Dark Pact cooldown reduced from 10 to 10/9/8/7

Spirit Breaker
- Greater Bash no longer messes up the target's command
- Nether Strike mana cost from 200/250/300 to 125/150/175
- Nether Strike (Aghanim's version) now Greater Bashes everyone in 250 area around you when you teleport to the primary target (306008)

Storm Spirit
- Intelligence base and growth reduced from 26 + 2.6 to 23 + 2.2
- Electric Vortex mana cost increased from 100 to 100/110/120/130

Techies
- Base damage increased by 5
- Remote Mine autoselection removed
- Remote Mines cast time reduced from 2 to 1.5 seconds
- Added a new sub ability Focused Detonate that you can use on the minimap or in an area to detonate all nearby remote mines (AoE of 700) (297625)


Tinker
- Laser's miss mechanic reworked.

Details:
Old Miss:
10/15/20/25% chance to miss affecting a 250 AoE for 9 seconds

New Miss:
100% chance to miss on the primary target for 2 seconds.

- War Club hit count and AoE increased

Terrorblade
- Base Intelligence increased from 15 to 19
- Fixed melee/range item to update properly for Metamorphosis transformation
- Fixed Manta Style interaction with Metamorphosis (so he can use it properly now)


Thrall
- Static Storm cooldown increased from 60 to 75

Troll Warlord
- Battle Trance self duration increased from 8 to 10 seconds
- Fixed melee/range item to update properly for Berserker Rage transformation

Vengeful Spirit
- Magic Missile stun duration rescaled from 1.75 to 1.45/1.55/1.65/1.75

Venomancer
- Plague Ward's bounty increased from 3-9 to 14-17

Viper
- Viper Strike (Aghanim's version) mana cost reduced from 125/175/250 to 125

Guardian Wisp
- Tether Stun duration reduced from 1.25/1.5/1.75/2.0 to 1/1.25/1.5/1.75
- Relocate cooldown increased from 80/60/40 to 90/75/60

Warlock
- Increased Infernal movement speed from 320/330/340 to 320/340/360
- Immolation from multiple Infernals now stack (281065)

Wind Runner
- Night vision reduced to that of normal heroes (1200->800)
- Shackleshot's search angle reduced from 30 to 26 degrees

Witch Doctor
- Casks first bounce no longer stuns for additional duration, it now lasts the same as all the bounces
- Voodoo Restoration mana cost per second from 6/9/12/15 to 8/14/20/26

Animal Courier
- Automatically upgraded to Flying Courier when you put the recipe on it (148581)

Aghanim's Scepter
- Now requires all three +10 attribute items instead of 2 and a 1100 gold recipe

Armlet of Mordiggian
- HP regen and lifedrain increased by 2 (overall +2 regen while inactive, no effective change while active)
- Recipe cost decreased from 900 to 700

Boots of Speed
- Movement speed from 50 to 55

Bracer, Null Talisman & Wraith Band
- Added +3 bonus damage to Bracer/Null/Wraith
- Increased Bracer/Null/Wraith recipe costs from 175/150/125 to 190/170/150

- Critical strike factor from 2.4 to 2.5

Clarity Potion
- Double clicking on Clarity Potion causes it to be used on your hero

- Health regen from 1hp to 2hp

Stygian Desolator
- Buff duration from 5 to 7 seconds

Urn of Shadows
- Soul Release now causes HP loss instead of magical damage when used on enemies (same overall dps as before, no longer disables dagger)

Yasha

DotA 6.69 Loadscreen
Kunkka decided to try out a new style for the loading screen in 6.69 (all sentinel heroes).

* Rebalanced the assist Gold & XP system

Most recent versions (since 6.55) have an extra portion of the gold/xp that is not a pure split like standard XP usually is.

For XP "heroes" means the number of heroes in the area.
For Gold "Assist" means the number of heroes in the area besides the killer.

"Level" always means the level of the dying target

In 6.68:

1 Hero: 15*Level + 50
2 Heroes: 15*Level + 50
3 Heroes: 14*Level + 50
4 Heroes: 13*Level + 50

New Loadscreen Coming in DotA 6.69

Hey DotA Addicts!, In IceFrog's latest blog, he has posted another development update of the next patch. This time, he has confirmed the appearance of new loading screen which will be included in DotA 6.69. Also, the development for next patch is progressing nicely likely to be finished in near future, he added. Read IceFrog's complete post:

There is a new loadscreen in the works right now. It will most likely be included in the next update.

6.69 development has also been progressing nicely. I'm not sure exactly when it will be finished just yet, but I'm aiming for something in the near future. I will post another update when it is closer.

If there's anything you'd like to see in the new loadscreen, or any suggestions for 6.69 or DotA 6.70 in general, please let me know. It is always helpful when you guys email me your requests so that I can make sure the updates meet your expectations.
It's nice that IceFrog is adding a new loadscreen for DotA, Let's see if Kunkka (DotA Loadscreen Artist) reveals any artwork of the upcoming surprise. You can send your feedback to IceFrog for the suggestions.

DotA 6.69 Will Be Released Soon

Hey DotA Addicts! At last, IceFrog has blogged the final update of DotA 6.69 map to notify the DotA fans that new patch is about to release soon. The DotA 6.69 is focused to provide balance and gameplay improvements, he added. Also, it was already mentioned that this map will contain a traditional quest and a new loadscreen. Check, what he said in his own words:

6.69 Status - IceFrog Blog:

The update is nearing completion. It took a little longer than anticipated, but it should be ready soon. The primary focus of this patch is to provide overall balance and gameplay improvements, while the follow-up content for 6.70 is still being developed. Of course you can still expect the traditional .x9 quest to be included!

I plan to release this within a week or two to provide some time before the start of some big tournaments in the following months.

Hey DotA Addicts!, After a long wait and all the rumors Valve has announced official release of DotA 2 in 2011 which will be released on both Mac & PC. As you may already know, IceFrog was hired by Valve in late 2009 for the development of most popular Warcraft 3 Mod - DotA. Now, they are about to release Valve DotA 2 in which the whole DotA concept will be ported in upgraded manner.

The vital change in DotA 2 is that it will run on Valve's Source Engine which will remove all the Warcraft 3 limitations. All the heroes, items, terrain, buildings will be ported same as in current version of DotA. Anyone who plays Warcraft 3 - Dota will instantly recognize DotA 2. However, there are still some things which are new in DotA 2.

Following are some features Valve introduced about incoming DotA 2:

In-game Voice Chat:
DotA 2 will have integrated voice chat feature which will allow players to communicate during game without using 3rd party software.

Leaver AI replacement:
Disconnected players will be replaced by AI bots which will take control over the hero. It will be available in unranked matches.

Heroes Voice:
DotA 2 will feature new voice work. You'll get amusing lines from heroes as they deny the enemy team last hits on creeps, and champions who have backstory connections will trade quips when nearby.

Rewards & Matchmaking System:
Valve is using it's traditional Steamworks as a matchmaking & community rewards system which will allow you to create in-game rewards for participating in community forums.

Coaching & Training System:
Once again, Valve is coming with a great innovation of coaching system which will be used to train a beginner to learn DotA 2 to sustain a respectable position in the community. It will allow veteran players to login as a coach. Coach can see beginner's screen and can get private voice chat during the game.

It is indeed a revolutionary & surprise step taken by Valve by entering in the world of MMO-RTS games with the help of IceFrog. Finally, DotA Fans had some relief after hearing some of the features of the upcoming DotA 2. The upgraded heroes are still looking remarkable in the images. It's good that Valve DotA 2 team revealed something but fans will still consider it as a drop in a ocean that IceFrog still refused to disclose his name in the community.

Valve DotA 2 Will Be Announced Tomorrow

Hey Dota Addicts!, The DotA Lord a.k.a IceFrog (DotA Developer) recently blogged a Valve's DotA 2 surprise update just short after the big DotA 6.69 release. The new DotA 2 which he has been working on with Valve for an year will be announced tomorrow on Game Informer magazine. This is indeed an exciting news for all the DotA community around the world. Hey DotA Addicts!, Here comes another sign of Valve developing it's own Defense of the Ancients based game after the Jon St. John Tweet leaking the Valve DotA project. Now it's getting more clearer. Valve corporation has just applied Trademark for word 'DOTA'. It looks like IceFrog & Valve are very serious with their DotA project and they don't want any copyright/legal issues.

Let's see if Valve gets Trademark for 'DOTA'. In my opinion it will be hard for Valve to pick up existing public domain material and trademarking it. DotA is the product developed by Euls, Guinsoo, IceFrog and by the help of community suggestions. Also, Valve has to make sure if the are putting content with Blizzard's Warcraft III Trademark on their DotA based game.

Things are getting really interesting in DotA Genre games, what about Heroes Of Newerth, League, Bloodline Champions, Demigod etc. Are they taking note?

DotA Independent Game Coming Soon?

Hey DotA Addicts!, As we all know that IceFrog has joined Valve, and has started working with them. However, There is no further information revealed so far regarding it. In IceFrog's recent Q&A Session#4 he stated that whatever he is working on along with Valve will be announced soon. Curiosity of fans are increasing and they are excited to see what is coming in near future from IceFrog.

If we look a little bit closer, It looks like there will be a new independent DotA based game with the collaboration with Valve. As, you can see below, It's a recent post made by IceFrog which will give you the idea and clear things in your mind.

What are your opinions regarding this Valve/IceFrog thingy? Do you think that will IceFrog come up with his own DotA based game or any other game with different concept. There are already some competitors out there such as, Heroes Of Newerth, League Of Legends etc.

Valve's Dota - On it's way

Hey DotA Addicts!, As we know that In October 2009, The DotA Developer 'IceFrog' announced a great news that he has been hired by Valve and leading a team there "to do some very exciting stuff that you guys will love". However, there was no further information revealed about it. Later, it was rumored that IceFrog is coming with Valve DotA Based Game like Heroes Of Newerth & League Of Legends. But now, this news seems to be true.

UPDATE: DotA 2 has been announced.

Jon St. John, The voice actor of popular game Duke Nukem series had a post on his Twitter page claiming that he has done voice acting for Valve's DotA.

This Obviously means that IceFrog is coming with a DotA based game with Valve's collaboration. A while ago, IceFrog mentioned in his Q&A Session #4 that "We'll be making an announcement soon". Also, John mentioned the same about PAX Expo 2010 which is happening on early September and amazingly, Valve is listed on PAX website as an exhibitor.

If this really happens all the DotA players who were attracted/ moved to other DotA clones will
probably revert back to Valve's DotA on large scale. Let's see if IceFrog updates further about this on his blog.

Hey Dota Addicts!, The DotA 6.69 Development Update. Recently, The DotA Lord a.k.a IceFrog has blogged a quick update of DotA 6.69 to let us know that development has already been started and it will not take much time as DotA 6.68 took. As usual, he asked for the feedback for the upcoming changes in DotA 6.69. For e.g. Balancing, Items, Loading Screen etc.

Dota 6.68 Bug | Infinite Goblin Techies Mines Bug

Dota 6.68 Bug has been found pretty fast. And moreover, the bug is game breaking and really easy to reproduce.



Goblin Techies Infinite Remote Mines Bug
1. Choose Goblin Techies as your hero.
2. Try to get level 6 as fast as you can.
3. Take Remote Mines (Techies' Ultimate Skill).
4. Put your Remote Mines.
5. Detonate it.
6. Kabooom! But look, your Remote Mines is still there, why don't you detonate it again? ;)
7. Profit!

Actually, i already expect bugs on Dota 6.68 since it contains many changes, but i never thought that the bug will be so easily found like this o_O

Dota 6.68 CM, Item an Tiny | Dota 6.68 Preview no.2

IceFrog has just made the second post about the Dota 6.68 preview. This time, he gives us a sneak peek to the new Captains Mode, Orb of Venom (new items), Tiny's Aghanim Scepter upgrade and Kinetic Field (new hero ability). On the same post, he also said that the new map is very close to finish. Yay!! Here are the details of the preview:

1- Captains Mode: There is a new ban and pick system for CM in 6.68. Instead of 4 bans and then 5 picks, now it is 3 bans and then 3 picks followed by 2 bans and 2 picks. Information about the exact drafting order will be detailed in the changelog.

Wow, this should make the draft more interesting. Since we can guess the enemies strategy from the first 3 picks, now we can counter it on the second round of bans.
2- A new basic item, Orb of Venom:

I don't know what it is.. But i guess it is something that gives a slow or maybe poison effect.

3- Tiny with a new ability he gains from Aghaninm's Scepter:
Wow, Tiny seems scarier now.. I wonder if the new ability has something to do with that club he carries.
4- Kinetic Field, an ability on one of the new heroes:

OK, i don't have any idea about this one. Can you give your thoughts guys?

Dota 6.68 New Gold System | Aggression 6.68 Preview no.1

Hey Dota Addicts!, IceFrog has just made a new post about the DotA 6.68 preview today. On that chance, he introduces a new gold system for the upcoming map. In the current version, we will lose a certain amount of gold if our hero dies. This thing forces us to act carefully and think twice before trying to kill a hero with the risk of our own death and the cost of our gold. To overcome this problem, IceFrog has invented a new gold system.

The new gold system divides the gold into two parts:

Reliable Gold - Any bounty you get from hero kills or from the extra "aoe kill gold" bonus (feature from few patches ago) is added to your Reliable Gold pool.

Unreliable Gold - It is everything else (creep kills, neutrals, etc).

With the new system, we only lose the money from the Unreliable Gold pool when our hero dies. And when we're buying something, our Unreliable Gold will be used before our Reliable Gold. This new mechanism hopefully will encourage us to get the gold from hero kills rather than from creeps.

As the picture above shows, you can see that the Reliable Gold is placed on the scoreboard title (410 gold) while the total gold still remains at the old place (910 gold). From that info, you can count that the Unreliable Gold amount is 500.

Wow! This new concept is epic and I'm amazed how IceFrog can come up with such a thing. Of course, this experimental idea may be adjusted and tweaked over time depending on feedback and results after it is released. What do you think guys? Do you like this new concept? Share your thoughts here! :)

It's basically a accustomed Warcraft 3 Toolkit but with some avant-garde addons distinctively advised for DotA. Our: "your text here" - This will send in allies.

• Quick Launch:
Launch any other program by selecting it or copy and paste it's path and clicking launch.

• Toggle Health Bars/CustomKeys
Allows you to switch Health bars & CustomKeys ON or OFF during game using a hotkey.

• Resolution Changer:
You can change your Warcraft 3 Resolution whatever you want. This is intended for Widescreen users only, who don't have their resolution listed on video settings page.

• Improve FPS:
This improves your Warcraft 3 Frames Per Second rate so you can play smoothly.

• Warcraft 3 Window Mode:
